WisconsinEye to livestream election panel discussion

WisconsinEye will livestream a panel discussion on the 2016 presidential campaign featuring Washington Post political reporter David Weigel on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The panel discussion is sponsored by the La Follette School of Public Affairs  and the Elections Research Center at UW–Madison.

Weigel, who is visiting campus this week as the public affairs writer in residence, will be joined by Milwaukee talk-radio host Charlie Sykes and UW–Madison faculty members Kathy Cramer and Mike Wagner.  The 90-minute panel discussion, moderated by Barry Burden, director of the Elections Research Center, is titled “Now What? The 2016 Election and its Impact.” It begins at 4 p.m. at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon Street.

Earlier in the day, Jessie Opoien, political reporter for The Capital Times, and Weigel will share their perspectives on the 2016 presidential campaign. “Covering the 2016 Election: The Good, the Bad, and the Weird” begins at 11 a.m. in Room 8417 of the Social Sciences Building, 1180 Observatory Drive.

Cramer, a professor of political science, is director of the Morgridge Center for Public Service, and Wagner is an associate professor of Journalism and Mass Communication. Both are faculty affiliates of UW–Madison’s Elections Research Center.
