Walnut Street entrance to Lot 60 closed

Starting Wednesday, September 16, there will no longer be thru traffic on Walnut Street from Observatory Drive to the university’s Lot 60. Those who park in Lot 60 — including many Badger football fans and others attending special events on campus — will have to enter Lot 60 from Observatory Drive across from the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

The closure is part of the Pharmacy Building construction project, and will be permanent. A new road is currently being built between Walnut St. and Observatory Dr. on the south edge of lots 60 and 70, and will replace the old route. It is expected to be completed by the third week of October, subject to weather conditions.
