WAA hosts celebration for UW-Madison’s international graduates
The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) will celebrate the achievements of the UW’s graduating international students on Dec. 8 during a free reception at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St.
The International Student Graduation Celebration will begin at 5 p.m. with a welcome from Gilles Bousquet, dean of International Student Services. The event features a festive evening of food, conversation and entertainment provided by Travis Andrews, a UW–Madison student who is majoring in classical guitar.
Students are encouraged to wear traditional dress from their home countries and are welcome to invite mentors or family members to the celebration.
For the first time this year, non-graduating international students also are invited to attend the reception to congratulate, honor and say goodbye to their graduating friends.
The reception is free, although students interested in attending should register online by Dec 3. For more information, contact WAA’s director of international relations, Liz Stern, via e-mail at LizStern@uwalumni.com or by calling (608) 265-8776.
