WAA celebrates international student graduation

May 6, 2003

To commemorate the graduation and achievements of the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s international students, the Wisconsin Alumni Association will host the annual International Student Graduation Celebration from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, in the Alumni Lounge at the Pyle Center.

The event will feature a short program with food and music by Submelodic. Family, friends, faculty and staff are invited.

“International students bring many things to this university. This event is a way to thank and pay tribute to each student for their hard work,” says WAA President and CEO Paula Bonner.

Bonner, along with Papa Demba Sarr, interim associate director of International Student Services, and Gilles Bousquet, the dean of International Studies and Programs, are scheduled to give short remarks.

Students should register online at uwalumni.com/ISGC and include name, student ID number, department and guest names. Each student is allowed two additional guests. For more information, contact Liz Stern at LizStern@uwalumni.com or (608) 265-8776.

To make this event possible, the Wisconsin Alumni Association partnered with other UW organizations, including the University of Wisconsin Foundation and International Student Services.
