February 3, 2019 By Meredith McGlone

Due to recent flooding, classes held in Vilas Hall and the Chemistry Building on Monday and Tuesday will be relocated. Please watch your university email address for specific information on new locations. Details are also available via alerts.wisc.edu.

The sidewalk on the east side of North Park Street between Johnson Street and University Avenue has been closed until further notice.

The damage in Vilas and Chemistry is deemed significant and both buildings are closed to the public. Faculty and staff can re-enter beginning Monday morning. Affected spaces include classrooms, offices and labs. No cost estimates are available at this time.

As repairs proceed, the need for additional class relocations will be determined. Updates will be provided via email to those affected.

Providing accessible spaces for all students, faculty and staff is a top priority during these relocations. Students with questions about accessibility should contact the McBurney Center at mcburney@studentlife.wisc.edu. Faculty and staff can contact Top Tantivivat at top.tantivivat@wisc.edu.

Please avoid the affected buildings. Building occupants will receive more specific instructions on how to access the buildings.
