UW Voice Mail Service Offers Expanded Features
Voice mail users on campus will have four new service features beginning September 15, 1997. The new features are:
- Multiple Greetings – You can record two personal greetings: an away-from-the-office greeting and an on-the-phone greeting.
- Message Deletion Warning Notification – You will be notified that the time period for keeping a message has expired and the message is about to be deleted.
- Locate Messages – You will be able to locate new and saved messages you received from other subscribers and outside callers.
- Send a Copy Without Introduction – You will be able to erase all introductions other than your own when copying a message to other subscribers.
The Multiple Greetings feature will effect subscribers immediately. You will need to enter an additional digit when changing your personal greeting. From the voice mail main menu, press 4,3,1,2,1 to change your away-from-the-office greeting, or 4,3,1,2,2 to change your on-the-phone greeting.
To hear detailed information on the features, call 262-4211 (through October 31) and follow the prompts, or see the web page at http://sage.macc.wisc.edu/~vmail
If you have any questions about voice mail features, call the DoIT Help Desk at 264-4357. To obtain a voice mail account, contact DoIT Network Operations at 262-0521 or 263-2219.
