UW students and alumni to connect at diversity networking event
University of Wisconsin–Madison students and alumni will have the chance to make personal and professional connections at an upcoming Career Links reception.
Career Links is an opportunity for alumni of color to provide an evening of mentoring and networking with students of color. This fall’s event will be held Oct. 1 from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Kohl Center in Madison. Alumni and students have participated in Career Links programming for nearly a decade.
"Career Links is a great opportunity for UW graduates and students to talk one-on-one about life after college and future careers," said Elesha Belke, a UW–Madison senior. "Students are grateful to alumni for their advice about how to succeed in their job search, and what to expect in the workplace."
The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) and UW–Madison’s Letters and Science/Human Ecology Career Services are partnering with the National W Club and the Athletic Department to present this year’s event.
UW-Madison alumni are invited and encouraged to attend. Attendees will also include campus leaders, faculty, staff, community leaders and students of color.
Registration is required for the free event, which includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres, beverages and parking.
UW-Madison graduates around the globe are also invited to share their knowledge and expertise via the Badger Career Network. UW–Madison students and graduates who are exploring new career paths can search the online Badger Career Network for alumni volunteers based on professional and geographic interests.
