UW students and alumni to connect at career networking event

University of Wisconsin–Madison students and alumni will have the chance to make personal and professional connections at an upcoming career event on campus.

Career Links is a chance for alumni to provide an evening of mentoring and networking with students of color. Attendees will also hear from the new vice provost for diversity, Damon Williams. Career Links will be held Monday, Oct. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Memorial Union in Madison.

“Career Links is a great way for alumni to make a difference in the lives of students by helping to ease their transition into the working world,” says Paula Bonner, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA). “It also offers the chance for both students and alumni to build upon their professional network of contacts.”

WAA and UW–Madison’s Letters and Science Career Services are partnering with the National W Club and the Athletic Department to present this year’s event.

UW-Madison alumni are invited and encouraged to attend. Attendees will also include campus leaders, faculty, staff, community leaders and students of color.

Registration is required for this event, which is free for students and $10 for alumni and friends, and includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages. To learn more and to register by Monday, Oct. 13, visit uwalumni.com/careerlinks.

UW graduates around the globe are also invited to share their knowledge and expertise via the Badger Career Network. UW students and graduates who are exploring new career paths can search the online Badger Career Network for alumni volunteers based on professional and geographic interests.
