UW Art Department to host open house this weekend

The University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Art Department will host an open house and glass sale Saturday-Sunday, Dec. 4-5, showcasing students’ work in the Glass Lab this semester.

The event, open to the public, will take place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on both days.

The pool of artists at the open house is comprised of mostly students, many of whom will have their artwork for sale. The proceeds from the show will go toward the Art Department’s Visiting Artist Fund.

In addition to the art exhibitions, there will be periodic glass blowing demonstrations, showing a variety of different glass-making methods.

The Glass Lab is located at 111 N. Frances St., adjacent to the Kohl Center. Due to heavy traffic from sporting events at the Kohl Center, it is recommended that visitors park in Lot 91, located next to the Glass Lab.
