University Roundtable announces fall lineup

September 7, 2004

A timely look at presidential elections will kick off the fall University Roundtable series.

Ken Mayer, professor of political science, will present his talk, “The Art and Science (?) of Forecasting Presidential Elections,” Wednesday, Oct. 13.

The program, which begins at 11:45 a.m. in Tripp Commons at the Memorial Union, is the first of three monthly presentations.

University Roundtable involves university and community leaders speaking on timely issues of interest to the campus community.

The other fall semester programs, which also will be held at 11:45 a.m., will feature:

  • Chancellor John Wiley, Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Tripp Commons, who will discuss “Challenges in Changing Times.”
  • The UW–Madison Jazz Ensemble, which will perform Wednesday, Dec. 15, in the Union’s Great Hall.

The programs are open to members of the university community and their guests.

Each luncheon costs $9. The three-luncheon series price is $25, if paid by Oct. 5. Individual reservations are due one week before each program, and cancellations must be made four days in advance. Those attending may pay for the luncheons at the door, if a reservation is made by e-mail or telephone before the deadline.

Reservations may be made through Colleen McCabe, 263-2985, cmccabe@bascom.wisc.edu. Reservations also can be mailed to McCabe in 270 Bascom Hall.
