Union Theater fills March with music and dance

March 9, 2004

Known for shattering the laws of physics and motion, Streb! Elizabeth Streb Dance Company will meld dance, extreme sports, stunt work and more this month.

Performing during the last 19 years in such venues as Grand Central Terminal, Minneapolis’ Metrodome and under the Brooklyn Bridge, Streb! might literally bounce off the walls of the Wisconsin Union Theater on Friday, March 26, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30, $28 Union members and $14 UW–Madison students.

The next evening, new spins on Celtic music will get an airing at a performance by Solas, a contemporary Irish music ensemble.

From jogs and reels to lamenting ballads, the five Solas members have been hailed as champions of traditional Irish music. Fellow traditional masters Bohola, whose members play music ranging from centuries-old tunes to newly composed pieces, will join them on Saturday, March 27.

Tickets for Solas/Bohola are $29, $28 Union members and $14 UW–Madison students.
