Tip/Annual psychology symposium

The annual Psychology Research Conference takes place this Saturday, April 27.

During this symposium, sponsored by the Psychology Honor Society, 36 undergraduate students from public and private campuses in Wisconsin and Illinois will discuss an array of topics, including stereotyping in the nursing profession, infants learning two languages, depression in juveniles and attention in physically abused children. At 11:15 a.m., UW–Madison psychiatry professor Paul Whalen will talk about “Life, Love and the Pursuit of the Amygdala.”

Free and open to the public, events will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in Brogden Hall, the Psychology Building, 1202 West Johnson St. Students will present their research in morning or afternoon sessions and a panel on how to apply to graduate school will meet at 1:30 p.m. There will be a reception at the end of the day.
