Members of the UW–Madison Community,

You are receiving this Timely Warning message as part of UW–Madison’s commitment to providing campus-area crime information in compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or, Clery Act, as it is commonly known.

On Saturday, December 21 at approximately 2:15 am, a 23 year old male UW-Student was walking with a group in the 300 block of N. Frances Street when an unknown suspect from another group punched him without warning. The victim required medical treatment including stiches as a result of the assault. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s, 5’8”, 180 lbs., short dark hair, with a thin outline style beard,  and last seen wearing a white jacket with a horizontal blue stripe and yellow stripe with grey shoulders and sleeves, dark pants, and white athletic shoes. The suspect fled into a nearby parking ramp.

The UW–Madison Police Department is actively investigating this case.  If anyone has any information about the crime listed above, or are witnesses to other crimes on campus, please call the UW–Madison Police Department at 608-264-COPS.
