Members of the UW–Madison Campus Community,

You are receiving this “Timely Warning” message as part of UW–Madison’s commitment to providing campus-area crime information in compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or, Clery Act, as it is commonly known.

On Friday, December 6, a sexual assault was reported to campus officials. The two UW students involved know each other, and the assault occurred in a lakeshore residence hall.  University officials are investigating the incident.

Statistics show that 84% of sexual assaults on campus occur between people who know one another. If you’ve been sexually assaulted, tell someone. There are resources available to help you. Please visit http://www.evoc.wisc.edu.
