Tenure task force to meet Dec. 23

The UW System Tenure Policy Task Force will meet next week to discuss draft proposals regarding faculty layoff and post-tenure review policies.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. in room 1820 of Van Hise Hall.

Recommendations from the task force will be reported to the Board of Regents’ Education Committee, which will vote to approve a final system-wide policy for tenure and post-tenure review.

Information sessions on the proposals will be announced in January with a chance for the campus community and public to provide comment on the policies. The Regent committee could consider the recommendations as early as the Regents’ February meeting and the full board could take them up in March.
