Talk focuses on women’s role in rural economic growth
A presentation on the status of women and economic development in rural Wisconsin will be held Thursday, Sept. 23.
“Leadership: The Foundation to Women’s Prosperity” is the topic for Connie Loden, executive director of the Wisconsin Business and Economic Alliance, in Wisconsin Rapids. She will be joined by David Beurle, founder of Innovative Leadership, a company from South Perth, Australia.
The presentation is from 4-6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Wisconsin Historical Society, 816 State St. It is free and open to the public; a reception will follow.
The event is sponsored by the Joint Center for Public Policy and the State of Women, a joint effort of the Women’s Studies Research Center and the La Follette School of Public Affairs.
It is the first in a series of issues raised by the Wisconsin Women’s Prosperity Project, a non-partisan, statewide initiative directed by Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton to address the quality of life for women in Wisconsin.
