Scenes from start of semester
The semester started Jan. 25 with routines both familiar – moving briskly to class through the cold, masking up indoors – and new – picking up free surgical masks and take-home COVID-19 antigen tests at the unions.

Welcoming home the national champions
For the first time in program history, the Wisconsin volleyball team has won a national title. Fans celebrated with the victorious Badgers on Sunday at the Field House after the players returned home from the NCAA finals in Columbus, Ohio.

The Badger volleyball team beat Nebraska 3-2 in a thrilling NCAA National Championship final, as fans on campus cheered them on heartily.
A study day, but with dogs and art
Students got together to study — and pet dogs — during Study Day at the Chazen Museum of Art on Dec. 16. The pet-therapy event is intended to provide a study break for students as they head into final-exam week.

The Badgers volleyball team, backed by a raucous crowd at the UW Field House, beat Minnesota 3-0 in the Regional Finals to advance to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament.
Badgers advance to Elite 8 in NCAA volleyball
Fourth-seeded Wisconsin swept No. 13 UCLA in the NCAA Madison Regional volleyball semifinals at the Field House on Thursday night, 25-16, 25-18, 25-17. On Saturday, UW will play 12th-seeded Minnesota, which advanced earlier Thursday with a five-set win over No. 5 Baylor.
Celebrating the universal language of rhythm
Music with influences from all over the globe flowed on Dec. 7 at an event called Tala Mela: A Celebration of the Universal Language of Rhythm at the Arts + Literature Laboratory in downtown Madison.
