The awards recognized a combined total of 33 employees for their work in administrative process redesign, process development and customer service innovations that result in improved efficiency, revenue, cost savings or service delivery.

UW–Madison merits silver rating in first sustainability assessment
Actions included a University Housing initiative that in one year eliminated the need for more than 386,000 disposable food containers, and the diversion of more than 450 tons of organic waste from landfills to composting and an energy-producing anaerobic digester.
Science writer wins award for ‘Origins’ series

University Staff Award recipients announced
Eight members of the University of Wisconsin–Madison community have been selected by the University Staff Awards Selection Committee to receive the 2019 University Staff Recognition Award. They were recognized for their achievement at an event March 29.
UW programs among Evjue Foundation award recipients
The charitable arm of the Capital Times is providing $370,500 for 30 campus projects and programs in the humanities, science, the arts, health, media and more. The foundation was established by William T. Evjue, the founder and longtime editor of the Madison newspaper.
Addario, Rutter and Thompson to receive honorary degrees in May
The honorary degrees, as well as doctoral and some professional degrees, will be presented May 13 at the Kohl Center.
