System newsletter looks at credit transfers from tech colleges

The fall 2003 issue of UW System’s newsletter Wisconsin Ideas focuses on the transfer of student course credits among UW System campuses and technical colleges.

Available at http://www.wisconsin.edu/wisconsinideas/, the newsletter examines how the UW and technical college systems are easing the credit transfer process.

This includes regents-approved plans to allow transfer of up to 30 credits of designated general education core courses from technical colleges to UW institutions; revision of UW policy to accept occupational courses on a course-by-course basis; continued development of a program to transfer additional technical college courses under a written agreement for each student; and a system to confirm how courses transfer.
