Summer choir seeks new members

May 17, 2004

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to join the Summer Choir at the School of Music.

The choir, which draws singers of all ages and sometimes a few international students, has about 50 members. Bruce Gladstone, who directs Madrigal Singers and Chorale, conducts the Summer Choir.

Rehearsals will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5-7 p.m., starting Monday, June 28, in the Mosse Humanities Building, 455 N. Park St. A public concert will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, July 23, in Mills Concert Hall, Mosse Humanities Building. The concert will feature love songs and selections from Brahms’ “Liebeslieder Waltzes” and PDQ Bach’s “Liebeslieder Polkas,” parodies of the aforementioned Brahms pieces.

The fee to join the choir is $10, which covers the cost of the music. For more information, contact Gladstone at (608) 262-9297 or bgladstone@wisc.edu.
