Students who recycle can win pizza

Students can win a free slice of Ian’s Pizza on Library Mall Friday while learning about the benefits of recycling.

Representatives from the campus Recyclemania team will be on the mall at 11 a.m., asking contestants to place items that had originally been thrown out as trash and headed to a landfill into a giant recycling bin. Contestants who successfully complete the recycling task will get a coupon for the pizza.

The Recyclemania event will return to Library Mall on March 8 and March 15.

Recyclemania is an eight-week tournament, which started Feb. 3 and will end Saturday, March 30, that seeks to increase environmental awareness and encourage students to recycle properly. The effort is led on campus by the UW–Madison Office of Sustainability and We Conserve.
