Student support services
Many resources are available on campus to help students deal with emotional and academic problems that may arise in their lives.
University Health Services offers individual counseling, group counseling, relationship counseling and crisis intervention services, as well as help for medical problems.
The Dean of Students Offices are always ready to provide assistance or ensure that students find the proper campus resources to help them handle problems.
Students also have access to free academic tutoring services through the Greater University Tutoring Service (GUTS). Each year more than 20,000 students participate in the programs of this organization, making it the largest of its kind at any American college or university. Tutoring help is also widely available in the residence halls. The Writing Center provides students access to a staff of expert instructors who are qualified to offer help with writing in all disciplines and at all levels.
