Street closure updates: Walnut Street, Park Street
A City of Madison storm sewer project will close Walnut Street south of the Campus Drive overpass starting Monday, April 14. Beginning in mid-May, the same project will also limit Highland Avenue south of the Campus Drive overpass to one lane of traffic in each direction. The storm sewer project is expected to last through July.
Access to parking lots in this area of campus can be obtained via Observatory Drive, Linden Drive or University Bay Drive.
The re-opening of North Park Street between Langdon Street and Observatory Drive has been further delayed because of a broken valve discovered during construction. It will now remain closed until April 24.
Permit holders in Lots 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will be required to enter and exit their lots from the west via Observatory Drive. The unexpected closure has caused a Metro Route 80 detour in the Memorial Union area. The Route 80 buses will not serve North Park Street and will not go up Bascom Hill from now through April 24.
