Stories of ‘Forward Motion’ debut on Big Ten Network
“Forward Motion,” a 30-minute news magazine spotlighting the inspiration behind some of the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s most innovative research and teaching, will debut on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. Central time on the Big Ten Network.
The program will be rebroadcast Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. Central time.
“The university has an international profile, but the stories behind the teaching, research and outreach efforts are often the most compelling,” says Peter Kleppin, UW–Madison’s director of campus programming for the Big Ten Network. “We’re excited to share these stories with a wider audience.”
The three segments in the premiere demonstrate the human connections that make this work both possible and worthwhile.
- Perry Pickhardt, an ambitious young radiologist, pioneered a virtual colonoscopy procedure – and, in the process, helped his own family.
- Why would a world-famous musician change jobs at the height of his career? Meet bassist Richard Davis, whose work goes beyond notes on a page.
- A patient and his family inspired neurosurgeon and biomedical engineer Josh Medow to find the “Holy Grail” of brain monitoring.
University Communications and Marketing produces UW–Madison’s campus programming for the Big Ten Network, which launched in 2007 and reaches about 90 million households in North America.
