Statement regarding the death of electrician Brad Krause
Here is a statement from Interim Chancellor David Ward regarding the death of University of Wisconsin–Madison electrician Brad Krause following an incident late Tuesday afternoon in the Humanities Building:
“I was deeply saddened to learn that Brad Krause, a University of Wisconsin–Madison electrician, died Tuesday in an on-the-job accident at the Humanities Building.
“Brad had worked for the university as an electrician for seven years and was a skilled tradesman who was valued and respected by his co-workers.
“As a university community, we send our most sincere condolences and our warmest thoughts to his family, friends and colleagues. We are grateful for his service to our university and stunned by the tragic accident that led to his death.
“The university is also grateful for the work of the emergency personnel who came to his aid, police officers, firefighters and paramedics.”
University officials are carefully investigating the incident and will be unable to discuss the circumstances until that process is complete and all of the facts are known.
