State, local government officials complete Certified Public Manager program
Sixteen managers from Wisconsin state and local government and one manager from Illinois local government became Wisconsin Certified Public Managers at a ceremony at the Wisconsin State Capitol on May 5.
They achieved the nationally accredited certification by completing 300 instructional hours in the Wisconsin Certified Public Manager Program (WCPM), which was initiated in 1990 and is administered by the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
“These graduates join over 300 other Wisconsin CPMs who are committed to excellence in their organizations and their communities,” says Susan Paddock, WCPM director. “Their hard work will pay off for their organizations in communities around the state.”
The graduation speaker was Darrell Bazzell, vice chancellor for administration at UW–Madison and former secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
