Small fire in Chamberlin Hall quickly extinguished

UPDATE: All streets have reopened

A small electrical fire caused the evacuation of Chamberlin Hall on the UW–Madison campus Friday afternoon.

The fire happened at approximately 1:45 p.m. and was quickly extinguished before the Madison Fire Department arrived on scene.

There were no injuries. The 1100 block of University Avenue is temporarily shut down as well as the 400 block of North Charter Street.

The Madison Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
