Singapore Film Festival showcases culture through cinema
The work of up-and-coming filmmakers from Singapore will be featured at the 2005 Singapore Film Festival.
- “I Not Stupid” examines Singapore’s fiercely competitive education system, aggressive search for “foreign talent” and reputation as a political “nanny” state, all through the perspective of three young boys. The screening will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1651 Mosse Humanities.
- Several short films will be showcased at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, 1651 Mosse Humanities.
- The film “15” is an exploration of the dark side of Singapore. The Singapore Board of Censors gave this film 27 cuts, the most of any movie to date. This uncut version features male nudity, gangsters and drug scenes. The movie is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 1641 Mosse Humanities.
