Share the Moment through social media during commencement weekend
Commencement is one of the most joyous times in the life of UW–Madison students and parents.
The university continues to explore new ways to use technology to help capture memories, share congratulations and create electronic keepsakes of the weekend. The idea is to make graduates feel even more connected with the university, their school or college and one another before they depart.

All students, parents, family members and even schools and colleges can participate.
Students, parents and campus units can congratulate grads and document ceremonies and the weekend of activities through a simple method of sharing photos.
To participate, email a photo to spring2012@news.wisc.edu. The image will post to the “Share the Moment” page, at http://commencement.wisc.edu/share. The subject line will serve as a caption.
Or, tweet a photo to the hashtag #UWGrad using the most common Twitter photo services (Yfrog, Twitpic, Lockerz, pic.twitter.com, ow.ly, Instagram.) The photo will upload to the page and the text of the tweet will serve as a caption.
All photos will be moderated before automatically posting to the site. The “Share the Moment” site is mobile optimized to be viewable from smart phones.
Twitter continues to play a big role in the weekend’s festivities. In addition to photo sharing, campus Twitter accounts like @UWMadison and @UWMadisonLS will be congratulating grads and interacting all weekend long at the #UWGrad hashtag.
At the conclusion of Saturday and Sunday’s ceremonies, a collection of the best photos and tweets will be collected together into a Storify social media collection at http://storify.com/UWMadison. Foursquare: Use Foursquare to check in at commencement ceremonies or Letters and Science commencement receptions and you may receive a special graduation badge.
Email socialmedia@uc.wisc.edu if you are experiencing problems or have questions.
