Services set for freshman Carlos Schwenn

The funeral for 18-year-old freshman Carlos Schwenn has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Highway X in Brighton, Wis. It will be preceded by a visitation at the church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Memorials may be sent to the Carlos Schwenn Memorial Fund, 6422 235th Ave., Salem, Wis. 53168.

UW–Madison Dean of Students Alicia Chávez says Schwenn’s friends and fellow residents at Sellery Hall are working with campus officials to plan a memorial service or other gathering on campus in his memory. Details will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.

Schwenn died April 24 of injuries sustained early last Saturday morning in a fall from a balcony at an off-campus apartment.
