Series examines global health
To raise awareness and stimulate interest in the global health efforts under way on campus, a collaborative program presents a series of seminars.
The series, sponsored by the Global Health Programs — an initiative of the schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine — includes the following faculty talks:
- “Obesity and Gender Differences in the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Uganda,” James Ntambi, professor of biochemistry and nutritional sciences, Wednesday, Nov. 5.
- “A Legacy of Mistrust: Western Medicine in the Postcolonial World,” Richard Keller, assistant professor of medical history and history of science, Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The talks are 5-6 p.m. in Room 2002 of Rennebohm Hall. Refreshments will follow in the atrium. Information: Lynne Cleeland, 265-6045, lmcleela@wisc.edu.
