School of Music announces online CD store
Recordings by School of Music faculty now can be purchased via an online CD store.
The new store, a Web-based shopping site, will carry all recordings published by the School of Music and, as available, independent discs produced by various faculty members and released on commercial labels.
“We have essentially become a distributor, on a very limited basis,” says John Schaffer, director of the School of Music, “so that we can bring together in one convenient location all of the recorded publications that represent our highly creative faculty.”
Offerings include the school’s centennial commissions and recordings by the Pro Arte String Quartet, Wisconsin Brass Quintet and the UW–Madison Jazz Big Band. Revenues fund scholarships in the School of Music.
CDs will continue to be available for sale at concerts and at the School of Music main office, 3561 Mosse Humanities Building, 455 N. Park St.
