ROTC units schedule Veterans Day activities
The university’s Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) units will mark Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, with several activities.
All three ROTC units – Army, Navy and Air Force – will gather for a ceremonial retreat at the flagpole on Library Mall Thursday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m.
Air Force ROTC cadets will set up a POW cage in front of the detachment building at 1402 University Ave., 7 a.m.-3 p.m., with a cadet inside the cage at all times. The cage represents the suffering endured by prisoners of war who served the United States throughout its history.
Air Force cadets also will begin a candlelight vigil for POWs from Wisconsin at 6 p.m. at the detachment building. The candles will then be placed along the sidewalk in front of the building until midnight.
