The library space was restored to much of its 1900s-era grandeur following an extensive $2.1 million renovation during the past year.
Work included re-gilding ornate ceiling details, adding period-style light fixtures, and updating contemporary electrical and communications needs. The university contributed $230,000 to help furnish the space and the library continues to be a favorite place for students to study.
Michael Pisapia, a political science graduate student, takes advantage of the updated electrical and communication features of the renovated space.
