Undergraduate Jenna Mertz, an intern with the Lakeshore Nature Preserve, uses a hand spreader to disperse a mixture of grass and wildflower seeds in Muir Woods near the Howard Temin Lakeshore Path on July 13, 2011.
The Lakeshore Nature Preserve staff are engaged in a restoration project designed to clear undesirable brush from the woodland edge and create a more diverse herbaceous plant community.
