A discarded holiday greeting card from a former resident lies on the floor of an empty room at Ogg Hall. Workers have been removing bedding, furniture and appliances from the building in preparation for its demolition later this summer.

The outdated two-tower, 13-story residence hall, which opened in 1965, will make way for green space along the East Campus Mall. A new residence hall, still under construction at Park and Dayton streets, will adopt the Ogg Hall name and open in August 2007.
