A student test drives the FutureTruck, a re-engineered Ford Explorer, in tough academic terrain before letting Chancellor John Wiley takes the future by the wheels. The FutureTruck is part of the College of Engineering’s automotive program and aims to create an environmentally friendly, hybrid sport utility vehicle. The grand opening of Olbrich’s Thai Pavilion and Garden is set for Saturday, June 15, noon-5 p.m. at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave. It will be the first opportunity to see the completed structure and stroll through the Thai garden that will surround it. The five-hour free public celebration will include Thai food, music and dance. Due to limited parking, visitors are encouraged to car pool, ride bikes or take a bus to Olbrich.
