Public ‘classes’ on cardiovascular disease begin March 31
Medical School faculty will explore cardiovascular diseases for this year’s Mini- Medical School. Topics include why heart failure is increasing and what kind of cholesterol causes blood vessel blockage.
The free lectures, on consecutive Wednesdays from 7-8:30 p.m., begin today, March 31 and run through April 21. All sessions take place at UW Health West Clinic, 451 Junction Road.
Today’s session is about stroke and features George Newman, director of the Comprehensive Stroke Program, and professor in neurology and radiology; and Timothy Tanke, assistant professor of medicine.
On Wednesday, April 7, Maryl Johnson, medical director of the Heart Failure and Transplantation Program, and other members of her team, will address “Heart Failure Epidemic: What is Wrong? Why Is It Occurring? What is Being Done About It?”
