Professor plans annual holiday chemistry lecture

Chemistry professor Bassam Shakhashiri will present “Once Upon a Christmas Cheery In the Lab of Shakhashiri” again this year.

For more than 35 years, Shakhashiri has given his annual holiday lecture and chemistry presentation, which features a variety of experiments. Shakhashiri has presented his holiday entertainment all over the country, from UW–Madison to the National Academy of Sciences and the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. It also has been televised on stations around the United States.

The 36th annual presentation will be held at 1 and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4, in Room 1351 of the Chemistry Building. Admission is by ticket only.
