Portal adds employee features

January 13, 2004

The My UW–Madison Web portal, now includes a “Work Record” tab with three new convenience features for employees. This personalized information can be accessed from anywhere on the Internet, with just a Web browser and the employee’s campus NetID and password.

Initially, the tab includes:

  • Employee earnings statements: This feature enables users to search for and display their payroll earnings statements. This is the same information that had been only available in print, distributed at the end of each pay period.

Earnings statements for classified and unclassified staff will continue to be printed and distributed. Plans are to stop printing student earnings statements as of the Jan. 30 pay date.

Employee Compensation and Benefits Services plans to use the portal to distribute other employment and benefits information.

  • My professional development: The My Professional Development module displays upcoming learning opportunities for students, faculty and staff based on their MPD profile. It also enables users to search for learning opportunities.
  • Work record bookmarks: This is a set of work-related reference bookmarks. Initially, every employee will see three links to UW–Madison business area Web sites. These can be deleted and others added to suit the user’s preferences.
