Photography exhibit opens at Union galleries
Seventy-five photographs by 45 artists from across the country will be displayed in Madison June 5-July 11 in the Midwest Photography Invitational touring exhibit.
The exhibit opens at the Porter Butts and Class of 1925 Galleries at the Memorial Union with a reception, 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 4. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
The exhibit represents a range of photographic media from black-and-white prints to computer-generated work to images printed on bricks.
UW-Green Bay produces the Midwest Photography Invitational. Jerry Dell, professor of communication and the arts at UW-Green Bay, selected work in the exhibit.
“We delight in the exciting diversity of concepts and processes cheerfully coexisting in photography,” says Dell, who has curated all but one of the series of biennial exhibits since 1980.
