Not too late to give

December 10, 2002

The 2002 Partners in Giving campaign raised $1.6 million for charity as of Nov. 29, just 56 percent of its $2.9 million goal. While contributions were down on the state agency side, they were running ahead of last year at the university and UW Hospital and Clinics.

On the university side, 2,084 employees — out of more than 13,000 potential contributors — had pledged $641,991, nearly $16,000 more than at the same time last year. At UW Hospital and Clinics, 232 employees out of 5,022 had contributed almost $47,000.

Though the seven-week campaign has officially ended, university campaign chair LaMarr Billups emphasizes that it is not too late to give, and he encourages those who have not filled out a pledge form to do so now. Payroll deductions turned in now can take effect in January.

Need a form? Contact your Partners in Giving coordinator or call 263-5510.

“All those who take part in the campaign deserve our gratitude,” says Billups. “Their gifts help to fund important programs in our local community and beyond.”
