Miller memorial planned Jan. 14
A memorial service for professor James A. Miller of the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research is planned Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St.
Miller died Dec. 24 at the age of 85.
Miller came to UW–Madison in 1939 as a WARF Scholar in Biochemistry and received a Ph.D. degree in 1943. He then joined the faculty at the McArdle Laboratory and began his pioneering research to understand the mechanisms of chemical carcinogenesis and cancer.
The McArdle laboratory has established the James A. Miller Fellowship Fund to support the training of graduate students in cancer research. Donations may be sent to the McArdle Laboratory, UW–Madison, 1400 University Ave., Madison, WI 53706.
