Associate Biological Safety Officer Margy Lambert has been named assistant editor of the journal Applied Biosafety and will contribute a regular column to the journal.

Rob Meyer, senior scientist with the Wisconsin Center for Education Research, has been named an Urban Education Research Fellow by the Council of the Great City Schools.

The 2007 R1edu Award for Distinguished Faculty Contributions to Online Learning was presented to Jan Miernowski, Department of French and Italian.

Norma Saldivar, who heads the MFA Directing Program, is interim executive director of the Arts Institute.

Cliff Thurber, geology, received the “Most Cited Author 2003-2007 Award” from the Journal of Volcanology & Geothermal Research.
