Memorial Union marks Veterans Day
Memorial Union is marking Veterans Day with a concert, panel discussion, film and a ceremony, all part of the building’s 75th anniversary as a memorial dedicated to people from UW–Madison who served in U.S. wars.
The 132nd Army National Guard band performs in the Main Lounge of Memorial Union at noon on Sunday, Nov. 9.
Veterans will discuss service experiences and current issues at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 10, in Memorial Union.
A 1946 film about returning WWII veterans, “The Best Years of Our Lives,” will be shown at 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 10, in der Stiftskeller in Memorial Union.
A ceremony at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Memorial Union’s Main Lounge will feature the 132nd Army National Guard Band Quintet and guest speakers.
Also on Nov. 11, the campus Army ROTC is holding a half-hour ceremony at the Wisconsin Historical Society, starting at 3:30 p.m.
