Memorial service, funeral set for Houze, Webster
Dean of Students Mary Rouse announced late today that a memorial service for 24-year-old Dylan J. Houze will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m. at the Pres House Student Center, 731 State St. The service will be co-sponsored by the Dean of Students Office and the Law School, where Houze was a second-year student.

Rouse also announced that the family of 20-year-old engineering student Heather Webster has scheduled her funeral service for 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, at St. James Episcopal Cathedral, 65 E. Huron St., in downtown Chicago. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
In addition, the Webster family has scheduled a prayer service for tomorrow (Nov. 17) at 6:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church in Racine. The church is located at 4701 Erie St. (between Three Mile and Four Mile roads.). Another memorial is planned on campus at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in the Wisconsin Room of the Red Gym.
The Student Bar Association at the Law School has created a memorial fund in support of the Houze family. Those wishing to make a contribution can send it to Tanya Wilkes, Student Bar Association, UW Law School, 975 Bascom Mall, Madison, WI 53706, or can drop it off at the association’s office in Room 2228 of the Law Building. Checks should be made payable to the Student Bar Association, and designated for the Dylan Houze Memorial. The association’s phone number is (608) 263-2641.
Other services and activities are being planned by friends of both students, but arrangements have not been completed. More information will be provided as details are finalized.
Houze and Webster were killed around 8:45 Sunday night when their northbound jeep crossed the median on I-90 about a mile south of the Rockton toll plaza in Illinois and collided head-on with a semi.
