Media advisory: Credentials for the Dalai Lama’s May 16 appearance

Media representatives who are planning to cover the Sunday, May 16, Overture Center appearance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama at the grand opening celebration of the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds will be required to obtain university-issued credentials. Media space will be limited.

Requests will need to be submitted on publication or station letterhead. Please provide University Communications with the names of those who will be assigned to the event, their cell phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and their positions (i.e. reporter, photographer, etc.).

The deadline for submitting credential requests is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 30. They should be submitted by e-mail or fax:

Credentials will be handed out at the Overture Center. A photo ID must be shown in order to receive the credential, preferably a driver’s license or media identification card.

Broadcast media will need to arrive by 11 a.m. so that a security check of their equipment can be performed. They can then set up their equipment. A mult box will be provided inside the Capitol Theater and there will be designated areas for media seating.

Photographers/videographers are advised to bring long lenses, as they will not have access to the stage area.

There will be no admission to the building after 1:30 p.m.

Media representatives will not be admitted to the theater after 2:15 p.m.
