March 21 deadline set for Small Business Tech Transfer award
Nominations for the 2005 Governor’s Small Business Technology Transfer Award are due by Monday, March 21.
Gov. Jim Doyle will recognize and reward the Wisconsin small business that best shows outstanding achievement in moving a technological innovation from idea to commercialization.
The 2005 Governor’s Small Business Technology Transfer Award, sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce and the Center for Technology Transfer, will include an engraved plaque and $5,000 cash. Doyle will present the award during the Wisconsin Entrepreneur’s Conference in Milwaukee, on June 7-8.
Applicants must be small businesses located in Wisconsin and successful in the commercialization of a technological innovation (TI). The applicant must be selling product(s) linked to the specific TI that was commercialized by the applicant. A TI that originated outside of Wisconsin, but was commercialized by the applicant, is considered eligible. Successful applicants will comply with all submission procedures. All applicants must be able to clearly describe the technology transfer experience unique to their TI.
Nominations must be postmarked by or received via e-mail on Monday, March 21. Finalists will be asked to give a presentation to the review panel on Wednesday, May 4. Copies of the nomination package may be found at http://www.cttinc.org.
