Madison police release sketch in bike path battery
Madison police have released an artist’s sketch of a man who allegedly tackled a 21-year-old UW–Madison student while she stopped to stretch on the Southwest Bike Path at 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 24.
The woman told police she was tackled at about 8:30 a.m. Jan. 24 on the bike path under the overpass where Allen Street becomes Edgewood Avenue.
The man said nothing but did flash his teeth and hiss, according to Madison Police Department spokesman Joel DeSpain. He attempted to hold her on the ground but she fought back and was able to run away.
He is described as a white male, 20-29 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, slender build with spiky brown hair, wearing a gray T-shirt, black jogging pants and black running shoes.
