Madison JASON ’97 Web Site Hits the Air
What bird travels with a flock of a hundred thousand others? What bird is named after a clumsy person?
VISIT the “new” Madison JASON ’97 Web site and find out!
UW-Madison Sea Grant is developing Madison JASON ’97 on behalf of the 4th- through 8th-grade Madison-area students and their teachers who are participating in the 1996-97 JASON Project curriculum, “Journey from the Center of the Earth,” and studying the relationships between glaciers, volcanoes and migratory birds. The site includes a listing of participating schools, guides to teacher resources and community “passport sites,” and student homepages developed as part of the JASON VIII Project curriculum.
Madison-Area JASON ’97 is featuring migratory birds that stop in Wisconsin. Nine of them will be popping up on the Madison JASON ’97 Web site. When the birds arrive this spring, they will be featured in our “Avian Adventure” quiz contest. Everyone is welcome to enter the contest; 4th-8th graders are eligible for a chance to win a JASON VIII T-shirt. Just e-mail us at sg-jason@mail.seagrant.wisc.edu to receive advance notice of when the contest will begin.
